Cirque's inception brought about the birth of the touchpad industry. We are the original pioneers in developing the capacitive touch technology that elevates the form and functionality of laptop computers, consumer and commercial keyboards and other data input devices around the world. Today, our hallmark GlidePoint® technology continues to propel the industry forward.
GlidePoint technology is available as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) touchpad modules for integration into your device. Many different size and overlay options are available. With a wide operating temperature range, GlidePoint modules are ideal for integration in industrial and ruggedized devices.
Through GlidePoint's Advanced Gesture technology, an OEM is able to offer trackpad gestures such as two finger scrolling, pinch-to-zoom and more. Advanced Gestures give an OEM the ability to provide the newest methods of device interaction without changing product design.
GlidePoint Touchpads are designed for use as low power embeddedPS/2®, SPI®, and I²C® input device. Advances have been made in powermanagement. In battery operated environments, the power consumption isreduced with an active power management system, which adjusts to useractions. Active and idle modes are automatically managed, while OEMs canselect specified delay intervals for sleep and shutdown modes. Thetouchpad wakes from sleep so rapidly that there is no perceptible delayto the user.
The GlidePoint Gen 4 image sensor uses a proprietary analog front end and customized MCU with Flash memory. These devices provide the following features: native advanced multi-touch gestures, built-in palm rejection technology, and the ability to track five independent points. Gen 4 trackpads are optimized for the I2C protocol.
As with all of Cirque's products, adaptable and collaborative support for integrating this solution into your product is available.
Use the chart below to choose the robust, off-the-shelf OEM touchpad solution that's right for your design requirements. We also offer custom design and manufacturing services for seamless, natural integration with even your most revolutionary new applications.
